As part if its third anniversary since changing to being open 24 hours a day, a Haverhill gym has undergone some major upgrades.
Real Bodies has been in Hollands Road since 2011, but after surviving the Covid pandemic and all of its challenges, it changed to being a 24/7 operation in December 2021.
That move has proved to be a good one for the gym and its owner, Lee Button.
He said: “We managed to get ourselves back up and on our feet (after Covid).
“We are now just over three years of being 24 hours. We have more members now than we ever had.
“I think it is just down to the fact that we are more flexible than we were.
“It just seems to really suit people’s requirements.”
Big changes can now be seen in the gym’s reception area and the strength and conditioning room, explained Lee.
“The room has just totally changed from what it was to how it is now.
“Every single person has come in and said, wow, I can’t believe how different it looks.
“It has literally all been done (the weights room and reception) in the last eight or nine weeks.
“We closed the weights room for two days, so we could to this work.”
The walls boast new images thanks to Haverhill-based company, Amazing Graphics, whose name appears on the wall as part of a business partnership between the two.
“The energy in the room has changed now and it has just brought it up to more modern times,” said Lee.
As part of the third anniversary upgrades Real Bodies also fitted two new infrared saunas, each suitable for one person.
They are now the only saunas to be found in Haverhill, added Lee, and fit into the gym’s role of being just as much a place where people want to lift weights, as a place they go to to improve their mental health.
It also redesigned the reception area, making it more welcoming and comfortable, adding in new seating, lighting, a coffee maker and vending machine with high protein meals.
