CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Charlottesville’s Sister City Commission is asking for your help to help fill a public library in Guatemala with books.
Charlottesville’s friendship city Huehuetenango, Guatemala is getting its first public library.
To help out, the Sister City Commission is hosting a book drive through February.
Anyone interested in donating can drop off books at The Habitat Store
“We’re looking for books that are in new condition or very lightly used,” said Claire Denton-Spalding, Sister Cities Commission vice chair. “We’re looking for books in Spanish that are fiction, nonfiction, biographies, how-to guides, and we’re also looking for children’s books in English that can help people as they learn English.”
Anyone interested in donating can drop off books at the Habitat Store Tuesday through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
