Rekhachithram has passed another weekend test, as the Asif Ali-starrer film continues its good run at the theatres. Also starring Anaswara Rajan, the film collected Rs 1.55 crore in India net on its tenth day at the box office, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The worldwide box office collection of Rekhachithram is now at Rs 39.5 crore.

Giving a breakup of the box office figures of Rekhachithram, the Sacnilk report has stated that the overseas collection for 10 days is at Rs 16.50 crore, while the India gross collection is at Rs 23.00 crore. Therefore, the Malayalam film’s worldwide collection now adds up to Rs 39.50 crore. Rekhachithram, directed by Jofin T Chacko, had an overall occupancy of 35.84 per cent on Saturday (January 18, 2025).
As of January 19, which is its eleventh day, Rekhachithram earned approximately Rs 0.85 crore in the India net collections, as per the early estimates on Sacnilk. With this, the thriller film is poised to cross the Rs 40-crore mark this weekend itself.

Meanwhile, Basil Joseph-starrer Pravinkoodu Shappu, which was released on January 16, 2025, is the only major release from Malayalam to hit theatres last week. But it remains to be seen whether it would pose a challenge to Rekhachithram.
Dulquer Salmaan praises Rekhachithram
Meanwhile, Rekhachithram, which has already impressed Malayali audiences with its compelling plot, got a further boost as other film stars praised Asif Ali’s thriller. None other than Dulquer Salmaan was all praise for the film, which also has a strong Mammootty connection.

Rekhachithram follows Asif Ali’s cop who tries to find more about a woman who went missing during the shooting of the 1985 film, Kathodu Kaathoram, which featured Mammootty in the lead role.
In his Instagram post, Dulquer Salmaan called Rekhachithram ‘an absolute gem of film’ and said that ‘it’s got a ton of nostalgia, especially for Malayalam cinemaphiles’.
The Lucky Baskhar star also praised the lead actors Asif Ali and Anaswara Rajan, along with director Jofin T Chacko, and the whole team of Rekhachithram.
