THE CITY Business Bureau expects about 49,000 taxpayers who will renew their business permits before Jan. 31, including pending papers since last year that were not issued due to the holidays.
In an interview with Madayaw Davao on Jan. 16, Maribel Paguican, Business Bureau officer-in-charge, said about 29,148 taxpayers printed their renewal forms through the Business One Stop Shop for the past 12 days.
“We are encouraging them to settle their payables because if everyone has the mentality to settle their dues during the last days, they may experience inconvenience,” Paguican said.
Paguican said those who already have the financial capacity should settle early so that they would not experience congestion in the venue.
She said taxpayers from the first district may go to the Sangguniang Panlungsod building; Talomo District taxpayers may go to Almendras Gym; Calinan District taxpayers may go to the Calinan Gym; Buhangin District taxpayers may go to Gaisano City Gate Mall; Toril, Tugbok, Baguio, and Marilog taxpayers to their respective district treasury offices.
“There is no requirement for renewal, bring your permits because we will encode your Business ID. If there are no problems in their record, we can proceed to the issuance of their application. But in the event that they have deficiencies or violations with other offices, they need to settle first. But we will not hinder their payments, they can pay [for the business permit] but settle the deficiencies later because only the payment has a deadline,” she said.
Paguican added that they will be conducting an ocular inspection by April, and will be charging a P100 penalty per day for those who do not have permits.
“Please renew as early as possible because we do not know the changes in the weather conditions, while the weather is fair and you have the capacity to pay, pay, and settle,” she added.
The Business Bureau will be open until 10 pm at the SP building and Almendras; City Gate (Buhangin) will be open until 8 pm; Calinan, Toril, and Tugbok will be open until 7 pm; and Paquibato, Baguio, and Marilog will be open until 5 pm.
