Danny Dyer transforms into OAP for new TV ad
Danny Dyer’s son is following in his father’s footsteps.
Arty has been seen sporting a variety of new looks in the trailer for an upcoming film. The young actor is set to star alongside his father Danny, 47, in the forthcoming movie Marching Powder, which exists within the same universe as Danny’s 2004 hit The Football Factory.
In stills from the film which is due to be released this year, Arty, who portrays Danny’s on-screen son JJ, appears neat and tidy in a crisp shirt and glasses. Other scenes depict him emulating his father’s former style in an Adidas tracksuit.
One particular scene renders him almost unrecognisable, with his face painted pale and adorned with messy red lipstick and vibrant blue eyeshadow. According to Vue’s listing for ‘Marching Powder’: “The film follows the story of Jack Jones (Danny Dyer), an ageing, drug-taking football hooligan who feels increasingly irrelevant in today’s society as he struggles to keep his family together.”
“Hooked on drugs and adrenaline; and struggling to resist the pull of his firm of fellow football fans, Jack is arrested after some violent matchday exploits and given six weeks to turn his life around, or else face a long spell in prison.”
“Juggling his marriage, his mates, his hard-nut bully of a father-in-law, and his unhinged 25 year old brother-in-law, Jack tries to get his life back on track, but his world slowly starts to spiral out of control. Can Jack overcome his inner demons, or is he heading for jail?”
Alongside Arty, Danny is also the proud father of Love Island star Dani and 17 year old Sunnie, whom he shares with wife Joanne Mas. Despite his successful acting career, Danny recently confessed that his children are intimidated by the council estate where he was raised.
“I’m very proud of my roots. I’ve tried not to lose that. Unfortunately, I’ve got kids that are quite privileged, so they don’t really understand,” he revealed to Sky News. “Sometimes I drive back to Custom House, where I was brought up, and the kids (are) in the back and they’re petrified of getting out of the car, which is a real shame,” he added.
