The Travelling Auctioneers is welcoming a fresh face to its lineup with the addition of auctioneer Briony “Bee” Harford, sparking curiosity among fans about the new BBC personality.
Blending elements from Antiques Roadshow and The Repair Shop, The Travelling Auctioneers has captured the hearts of BBC daytime audiences, now delivering its third season with gusto.
The latest series ramps up the excitement by expanding the cast, introducing two additional restorers and a pair of auctioneers to lend their expertise and assist participants in cashing in on their undiscovered gems.
Briony “Bee” Harford is one of the newcomers stirring interest, as viewers are keen to delve into the background of The Travelling Auctioneers’ newest star.
Hailing from Malvern Hills, Briony was nurtured by parents who were graphic design maestros, operating their own studio from the family home.
Her childhood environment played a pivotal role in shaping her passion for art and design, with Briony acknowledging that it was a “huge part of my life”.

Pursuing her interests, she studied art history at Nottingham University before securing a scholarship from Sotheby’s Institute in London, where she completed a Master’s degree in Fine and Decorative Art.
Briony recalls the allure of her first auction during her studies, saying, “From the very first auction we attended in class, I was hooked.
“I was – and still am – completely sold on the drama and excitement of it all.”
Now with 12 years under her belt in the auction industry, Briony has climbed the ranks from a general valuer to become a head auctioneer.
Briony, who currently heads up Bonhams’ operations in Yorkshire and the North East, devotes her time to “visiting clients, valuing and consigning items for auction”.
Breaking barriers at Bonhams, Briony also made history by becoming the first woman in four decades to commandeer the rostrum at Staffordshire Motorcycle Show back in 2021.

Outside of her professional achievements, when probed by Bonhams about a possible “hidden talent”, she shared: “I have always enjoyed drawing and painting, when I find the time.
“As with all art, though, it is very subjective perhaps some might think it a talent… but I suspect many might not! “.
Despite her public persona, Briony is fiercely private about her personal life away from the limelight, keeping her relationship status under wraps.
In a candid moment with the BBC, Briony confessed her passion for her career, saying: “I love my job for many reasons, but the main one is helping people make a difference to their lives.
“I get no greater joy than unearthing treasures in people’s homes that they had no idea were worth anything, then selling them on the rostrum!”
The Travelling Auctioneers continues on weekdays at 4.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
