President-elect Donald Trump, 78, is heading back to Washington DC later this month with First Lady Melania, 54. When he last entered the White House, their son Barron was just 10 years old, but he’s now a freshman at New York University residing at Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan.
Barron, who is Melania’s only child and the youngest of Trump’s five children, has been at the centre of some unhinged conspiracy theories since being thrust into the spotlight during his father’s campaign for a second term in office. With theories resurfacing about Barron ahead of his father’s presidential inauguration today (January 20), we’ve revisited ‘evidence’ of the university student being a time traveller as well as speculation about his actual height and age.

Time travelling Trump
Perhaps the most bizarre theory is that Barron is a time traveller after people started tying his identity to a character in a series of 1800s novels about Little Baron Trump.
The children’s books, written by Ingersoll Lockwood in the late 19th Century, are about a wealthy young man who lives in Castle Trump. When he grows bored of his lavish lifestyle, he decides to embark on a journey to Russia which changes his life.
But there’s more. Along the way, he’s guided by a mysterious figure referred to as the Master of Masters, who shows him a portal that allows him to travel to other worlds. The mentor is called Don Constantino Bartolomeo Strepholofidgeguaneriusfum – but the characters in the books just call him Don.
Ahead of leaving his life of privilege, Baron is reminded of his family’s motto – ‘The pathway to glory is strewn with pitfalls and dangers’.
The final novel doesn’t feature Baron’s character, but it’s called The Last President, which is about a political outsider who is unexpectedly elected president—causing uproar. The books were rediscovered in 2017 and studied by TikTok users who shared the parallels between Barron Trump and the character Baron Trump.

Why is Barron so tall?
With a former supermodel as a mother and a father who is 6ft2 tall, it made sense Barron would grow up to be tall. However, his height started trending on Google when he was filmed and pictured alongside his parents during Trump’s 2024 presidential campaigning as he towered over them.
Some publications have reported that he’s 6ft9 inches tall and stands tallest among the Trump family members, while others have stated that he’s an estimated 6ft7.
Trump has previously spoken about his youngest son’s incredible height and credited it to Melania’s late mother, Amalia Knavs’ cooking.
He told spectators at his campaign HQ in Des Moines, Iowa, last year. “That’s how he got so tall; he only ate her food. I said you’re gonna be a basketball player. He said, well, ‘I like soccer, Dad,’ actually. I thought… at your height, I like basketball better, but you can’t talk them into everything.'”

What’s his real age?
Barron made headlines in recent months when his father mistook his age during a television interview, telling the reporter he was 17— even though he was 18 at the time. Trump, whose children’s ages range between 47 and 18, said in the interview with Telemundo 51 in Miami: “He’s pretty young, I will say. He’s 17.”
According to reports, Barron was born on March 20, 2006, and spent most of his childhood at his family’s New York City penthouse while attending top private schools on Manhattan’s prestigious Upper West Side.
Trump’s older children, Ivanka, Donald Trump Jr, Eric and Tiffany, have all taken a hands-on role in their father’s political career, whereas Barron’s privacy has always been heavily guarded until now.
Crypto trading rumours
Barron’s involvement in crypto started out as idle Twitter gossip in recent years. However, rumours that Barron trades crypto were recently confirmed by his father, who told Rug Radio: “Barron knows so much about [crypto]. He talks about his wallet. He’s got four wallets or something. I say: ‘What is a wallet? Explain this to me.'”
Last summer, speculation mounted about Barron being the mastermind behind a coin known as the DJT meme coin, which reached a market cap just shy of $400 million before crashing to zero. However, this theory has never been proved.
