The Patton College of Education’s Stevens Literacy Center (SLC) will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair from Feb. 6-9 in the lobby of Patton Hall on Ohio University’s Athens campus.
The Scholastic Book Fair is run by SLC Literacy Ambassadors and Kappa Delta Pi Teacher Education Honor Society members and is open to faculty, staff, students, and the community. There will be books for all ages available for purchase and all purchases support schools in our area, as well as our teacher candidates. The Book Fair accepts cash, credit cards, and checks made payable to Ohio University.
“The Scholastic Book Fair helps us bring the joy of reading to our campus and beyond,” said Julie Barnhart Francis, director of the Stevens Literacy Center. “Every book purchased directly supports our teacher candidates’ professional development and this year a portion of the proceeds we raise will go towards assisting schools impacted by the LA wildfires.”
