The South by Southwest Film and Television Festival unveiled its highly anticipated 32nd edition lineup on Wednesday, boasting a star-studded roster of films featuring Seth Rogen, Nicole Kidman, Paul Rudd and Issa Rae. SXSW also announced the third round of showcasing artists headed to the music festival. The festival will feature a diverse array of viewing and listening experiences in and around downtown Austin between March 7-14.
The festival continues its legacy of championing innovative works with its 2025 Film and TV program. This year’s lineup boasts 96 movies, including 82 world premieres, showcasing a diverse range of genres from documentaries to comedies to thrillers.
Seth Rogen opens the fest with ‘The Studio’
The 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival kicks off with the eagerly awaited Apple TV+ series, “The Studio,” created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Rogen also stars in the series as Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of a struggling film studio. The series chronicles the world of Hollywood, filled with narcissistic artists, corporate overlords and high-pressure situations.

SXSW announces 3rd round of showcasing musicians
SXSW has also announced the third round of artists invited to perform at the SXSW Music Festival from March 10-15.
The announcement features a lineup of artists from around the globe, including several powerhouse SXSW alumni like Sunflower Bean, Holy (Expletive) and Jack’s Mannequin. The lineup spans cultures and continents, from alt-reggaeton act NSQK from Mexico to J-Pop boy band PSYCHIC FEVER. Latin favorites like Sofía Reyes, Amantes Del Futuro and La Cendejas and acclaimed Taiwanese artists including Andr, TRASH, Amazing Show and Enno Cheng are also on the roster.
Many of SXSW’s showcases are curated by SXSW programmers in collaboration with record labels, booking agencies, export offices, music publishers, media outlets and more. These showcases give attendees the opportunity to experience sets in exclusive, small-stage performances. The cumulative list of showcase presenters includes BBC Introducing, Billboard, KUTX The Breaks, Mint Talent Group, NPR Music Stations and Rolling Stone.

How do I attend SXSW 2025? Badges, wristbands and more
Badge rates are currently $2,095 for a Platinum pass (walk-up Rate $2,295.00); $1,495 for an Interactive festival pass (walk-up Rate $1,695); $1,295 for a Film and Television festival pass (walk-up rate $1,395) and $845 for a music festival badge (walk-up rate $995.)
Music and Film festival wristbands, which grant access to many events, will be made available to locals closer to the festival launch date. Volunteer opportunities are also available.
