Rosie O’Donnell floated a wild 2024 stolen presidential election conspiracy theory in her first Irish TV interview since fleeing the United States just days before President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
O’Donnell joined Patrick Kielty on Friday’s The Late Late Show from Irish channel RTE One to discuss moving to Ireland out of fear of Trump. The two have feuded and traded public insults since a 2006 View interview. While running for president in 2015, Trump reignited the feud by mocking O’Donnell from a debate state.
According to O’Donnell, the 2024 election should be “investigated” because Trump is “best friends” with Elon Musk, whom she described as the “man who owns and runs the internet.”
The actress could be referring to Musk owning social media platform X or Starlink, the satellite internet service.
O’Donnell told Kielty she questions the election results because Trump won all seven swing states and then-Vice President Kamala Harris was “filling up stadiums with people who supported her and Donald Trump was not able to do that.”
“I hope that would be investigated. And that we would see whether it was an anomaly or it was something else that happened on election night in America,” she said.
During a recent White House meeting with the Irish prime minister, Trump took a shot at O’Donnell by saying the prime minister was “better off” not knowing who O’Donnell is. O’Donnell said she sent an apology note to the prime minister’s office following the Trump meeting.
Check out O’Donnell’s full conspiracy theory below:
KIELTY: A lot of people did vote for him.
O’ODONNELL: Yes.
KIELTY: Do you accept their right to do that and their opinion of him?
O’DONNELL: Well, I respect their right to do that. I question why for the first time in America history a president has won every swing state and is also best friends and his largest donor was a man who owns and runs the internet.
So, I hope that would be investigated. And that we would see whether it was an anomaly or it was something else that happened on election night in America when Kamala Harris was filling up stadiums with people who supported her and Donald Trump was not able to do that.
So, it’s curious to me and as an American and a believer in democracy, I would hope that we would be able to look at all of the reasons why this happened in our country.
