The three-vehicle collision that killed two people Saturday night was a result of the driver doing donuts in the intersection before leading officers in a pursuit Saturday night at Temperance and Gettysburg avenues in Clovis.
A reddit user posted from their dashcam that shows the driver peeling out from the middle of the intersection before a pursuit started.
Clovis Police released a statement late Sunday afternoon saying officers heard sounds of a vehicle “peeling out and driving recklessly” just after 9:30 p.m.

Police said officers saw the Dodge Charger peeling out with smoke coming from the tires and attempted to pull the vehicle over as it sped away southbound on Temperance. The driver failed to stop for their lights and sirens, spokesperson Ty Wood said.
The driver approached Temperance and Belmont avenues where it collided with two vehicles.
The California Highway Patrol investigated the collision and said the Dodge Charger collided with the left rear of a Toyota Camry that was stopped at the intersection’s stop sign. The Dodge continued to drive out of control before colliding with a Chevrolet Tahoe that was going northbound on Temperance Avenue.
The Dodge and Tahoe came to rest blocking the intersection. Two 19-year-olds in the Dodge were pronounced dead. A 20-year-old passenger had critical injuries and a fourth passenger had minor injuries.

The driver, Luis Felix of Fresno, suffered major injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. He is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, CHP said.
The driver and a woman of the Chevrolet sustained moderate injuries, while three minor passengers, ages 9, 4, and 1, suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Toyota also sustained minor injuries, Salas said.
The investigation is ongoing.
“The Clovis Police Department urges drivers never get behind the wheel if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and to drive safely. To report a possible DUI or reckless driver, call 911,” Wood said.
Police are deciding what charges the driver is facing.
