‘Oh. What. Fun.’
Christmas is chaotic, but the one person there to hold it together is Claire (Michelle Pfeiffer). After she plans a well thought out, special Christmas for her family, they forget about her and leave her home alone. Feeling like nobody appreciates her, Claire sets off on an adventure to have an impromptu Christmas of her own.
“There aren’t any Christmas movies about mothers who are basically the glue to the whole thing,” Pfeiffer said of the film. “So, I got very excited to do it, and I loved the mother-daughter relationship with Channing (Felicity Jones) and, for Claire, the inability to let things evolve.”

‘Merv’
When Anna (Zooey Deschanel) and Russ (Charlie Cox) split up, they are forced to co-parent their dog, Merv. But when they see Merv doesn’t have the same spark that he used to, they set off together on a holiday trip to bring back his light. Not unexpectedly, as they spend more time together, sparks start to fly between Anna and Russ again.
“I loved the story of a couple breaking up but sharing a dog—and then having to reunite to cure their dog’s melancholy,” Deschanel said. “It just was such a funny concept.”
Cox credits Deschanel for inspiring him during production. “Working with Zooey, especially in this genre, was like a masterclass,” he said. “There are very few actors more accomplished than she is. I really tried to learn as much as I could from her and be as present as possible in the scenes.”

‘Finding Joy’
From the creative mind of Tyler Perry comes Finding Joy. Joy (Shannon Thornton) is having a rough time in the love and career department, so she follows her crush to Colorado for the holidays. But when she gets stranded in a major snowstorm, she meets Ridge (Tosin Morohunfola), who changes her outlook on life, love and her future.
“I think it’s so relatable,” Thornton shared about the movie. “You work hard and don’t always get the recognition you deserve. Joy’s had her designs stolen and her voice silenced. Her love life is falling apart, too. By the end, though, she finds her power again. It’s a story about rediscovering your worth, and I think everyone can connect with that.”
