Lights, camera, action! Dramatic arrest filmed in downtown Salmon Arm
Published 3:00 pm Saturday, December 6, 2025
Five cop cars screeched to a halt in front of Cahoots Kitchen in downtown Salmon Arm and officers arrested a female suspect on Saturday, Dec. 6
The matter won’t be going to court, however, but will play out on the big screen.
The intersection at 70 Hudson Street transformed into Big Sky, Montana for the filming of Billings, a movie being shot locally in the Shuswap by production company Enderby Entertainment. In the alternate reality created for filming, the Salmon Arm Arts Centre became a bank that the actress robbed for $1, prompting the response from the “sheriff’s department,” while city hall became a court of law for the fictional trial.
Enderby Entertainment CEO Rick Dugdale, who grew up in Enderby, and crews were first spotted scouting the area in early November when they checked out Howard Johnson pub for a potential scene location, and were seen filming in Grindrod.
Dugdale’s company has also filmed locally prior to this, including the thriller Blackway released in 2015 and 2020’s Recon, a movie set during the Second World War.
