INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis bookstore is teaming up with a local brewery to put on an adult book fair this February.
The Whispering Shelf in Lockerbie Place is hosting its second annual “Grown-Up Book Fair.” Organizers hope to bring the nostalgia of elementary school book fairs to book lovers in central Indiana.
During the fair, people can browse books, shop with local vendors, and hear from a lineup of authors.
In a press release, owner Lena Burt says it was heartwarming to see how well the community received the inaugural Grown-up Book Fair.
“Connecting people over a love of reading and learning is what we aspire to do every day,” Burt said. “So it’s an incredible opportunity to continue this event for our community.”
The event will be at Guggman Haus Brewing Company, 1701 Gent Ave., Indianapolis.
Admission is free starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28.
However, “Prologue” Tickets are $12.99, allowing eager readers to shop for a 45-minute time slot before the rest of the crowd. Prologue admission starts at noon.
Organizers still ask general admission shoppers to reserve a free ticket online.
