Call the Midwife actress Natalie Quarry is set to make her big screen debut, which includes scenes of nudity
Call the Midwife actress Natalie Quarry is poised to make her cinematic debut in a role that includes on-screen nudity.
The upcoming film, Think of England, draws inspiration from the urban legend that the UK Government commissioned adult films to bolster troop morale during World War II. This darkly satirical film is set in 1943 on the Orkney Islands, with the Normandy landings imminent.
The narrative centres on a diverse group of civilians and soldiers assigned to a top-secret unit, charged with creating intimate propaganda amidst surveillance, coercion, and fear.
In the film, Winston Churchill tasks Jewish-German filmmaker Max Meyer (portrayed by Ben Bela Böhm) with producing an adult film starring patriotic theatre actress Holly Spurring (Natalie Quarry) and faded former film star Corporal Harry Evans (Bandeira).

Holly is hesitant to accept the covert mission, with sinister implications that she has little choice, while Harry’s behaviour is increasingly erratic, reports the Mirror.
The UK premiere is scheduled for the Glasgow Film Festival on 6 March. Directed by Bafta-nominated British writer-director Richard Hawkins, the film also features The Big Impression star Ronni Ancona, who recently joined EastEnders as Bea Pollard.
Natalie joined the Call the Midwife ensemble in its 13th series as a trainee midwife, and her fondness for the show dates back to her adolescence, according to MyLondon.
In a conversation with Virgin Radio, she disclosed: “I properly watched the show when I was a teenager. I feel like I was the biggest fan in the family, but they are really excited because it is something that we all used to watch together.”
Upon graduating from drama school, she approached the show expressing her desire to be involved. She further stated: “When I was like 19. I was like, ‘Put me in an episode!’ So (episode one) is kind of a weird sort of full circle moment to me, being big-headed and being like ‘I’d be good in Call the Midwife’.”
Since her arrival in Poplar, Nurse Clifford has transitioned into a fully-fledged midwife, engaged with the Women’s Liberation Movement, and discovered love with local social worker Cyril Robinson (Zephryn Taitte) – though their relationship has sparked chatter among the locals.
Beyond the BBC period drama, Natalie has also featured in Doctors, Atlanta, and Blitz.
Call the Midwife airs Sunday at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer
