The first teaser of Nagabandham is out — and it arrived with divine timing. Unveiled by Mahesh Babu on Maha Shivaratri, the glimpse into director Abhishek Nama’s ambitious period drama promises a striking blend of mythology and history.
Sharing the teaser online, Mahesh Babu called the #WorldOfNagabandham “absolutely fascinating”, fuelling anticipation around the pan-India spectacle. At the centre of it all is Virat Karrna, who appears to unleash the fury of Lord Shiva in a transformation that anchors the teaser’s closing moments.

What is Nagabandham about?
The teaser introduces viewers to a mystical Himalayan landscape and the enigmatic Nagabandham Temple — a sacred site believed to guard an ancient cosmic power. The narrative hints at a story rooted in spiritual symbolism, while also drawing partial inspiration from historical events, including the invasion led by Ahmad Shah Abdali.
Striking lines such as “Born from Brahma’s Creation Guarded by Vishnu’s Dharma Powered by Mahadev’s Fury” set the tone for a film that intends to merge divine mythology with echoes of history.
How does Virat Karrna stand out?
Virat Karrna’s warrior avatar dominates the teaser. His physical transformation and intense screen presence suggest a character driven by rage, faith and destiny. The visuals lean heavily on action set pieces, stylised combat and divine imagery — particularly manifestations linked to Lord Shiva — rather than dialogue-heavy exposition.
