From crime thrillers to daytime dramas, eagle-eyed viewers might have recognised the backdrop of their favourite shows.
We’ve put together a list of some of the TV series that have been filmed in Worcestershire and the Black Country.
- Peaky Blinders

The Black Country Living Museum in Dudley is one of the region’s most recognisable filming spots, featuring heavily in the BBC hit series Peaky Blinders, where it doubled for early 20th-century Birmingham and London.
Irish actor Cillian Murphy was spotted in November 2024 in his Tommy Shelby’s trademark flat cap and three-piece suit as he shot scenes along the Dudley Canal in Netherton.
- Hairdresser Mysteries

Residents shared photos of camera crews filming a new BBC drama at Batchley Road Fish Bar in Redditch in September 2025.
The fish and chip shop, which was renamed for the show, attracted a lot of interest whilst filming took place on the premises.
The filming is for a new BBC drama, The Hairdresser Mysteries, which stars Sally Phillips as Lily Petal.
- Silent Witness

It was revealed this week that Bodenham Arboretum in Kidderminster had been chosen as the base camp for filming the 30th series of the long-running BBC crime drama.
Visitors had noticed an increase in security at the site as well as several trailers on the attraction’s car parks whilst filming took place.
Fans of the show are advised to keep an eye out for local landmarks they might spot when the series airs next year.
- Father Brown

The BBC drama has filmed at a variety of Worcestershire locations, including the the baroque church at Great Witley, Worcester Cathedral and Guildhall.
It features Mark Williams, who plays Arthur Weasley in the Harry Potter films and grew up in Bromsgrove, as a crime-solving priest.
- Guz Khan’s Custom Cars

In July 2025, the actor and comedian Guz Khan was spotted filming outside Gil’s tea room in Wolverley.
The new TV series by Quest was released this year and sees the TV favourite attempt to modify his own car.
