Players will soon be able to become John Wick in an upcoming movie inspired game coming to PlayStation 5 players.
The “Untitled John Wick Game,” as it is currently called, will be developed by Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 developer Saber Interactive with input from film franchise director Chad Stahelsk. It is based on the billion-dollar action film series John Wick and features Keanu Reeves’ voice and likeness.
The game’s exterior trailer, which is anticipated to be a prequel to the series, was revealed Thursday at PlayStation’s “State of Play” showcase. A 30th anniversary version of the platformer Rayman and multiple remakes of well-known game titles, such as the God of War trilogy, were also unveiled at the Sony event. The John Wick movie franchise, which has made over $1 billion globally, tells the tale of Keanu Reeves’s retired assassin who seeks brutal retribution.

According to the company, the plot will be a unique work “tailored for mature audiences” and will include both new and old characters from the series.
The “unparalleled action” and “brand-defining fight choreography” of the movies were the goal, according to Jenefer Brown, president of global products at John Wick producer Lionsgate.
Social media users’ reactions to the news were largely favorable. However, others have questioned what it signified for Saber’s eagerly anticipated KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic) adaptation.
According to Christopher Dring, co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Game Business, the new project felt like a “strong match-up” between developer, IP, and genre.
