Planning a Prime Video movie night this week? If you’re planning to rely on Prime Video’s top 10 movies list to help make choosing your next movie a bit easier, you might strike gold — or you might not. Only a handful of movies from the Amazon streamer’s library can rise to the top, but it pays to remember that a trending watch may not be one of the best things on offer on Prime Video (or any of the best streaming services, for that matter).
That’s exactly why we keep such a close eye on the Prime Video charts and regularly highlight just a handful of watchlist-worthy picks. That way, you’ve always got a quick set of recommendations to turn to the next time you’re between movies. So, if you’re looking for some streaming suggestions, here are the three trending Prime Video movies I’d suggest adding to your watchlist right now.
Best movies in the Prime Video top 10
‘Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre’ (2023)
I feel like you usually get what you expect with a Jason Statham movie, and if you want some simple Prime Video thrills this week, you might get a kick out of “Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre,” Guy Ritchie’s 2023 actioner. This film sees Statham take on the role of elite spy, Orson Fortune. Alongside a crack team that includes Aubrey Plaza, Cary Elwes and Hollywood movie star Danny Francesco (Josh Hartnett), Fortune’s got to save the world by stopping the sale of weapons tech to a billionaire arms broker (played by Hugh Grant).
“Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre” shot up Prime Video’s charts in recent days, and even though it divided critics, it delivers daft characters and enough action that I think it’s worth giving a chance, at least. It’s also well-recommended by viewers at home, with an 82% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes‘ Popcornmeter.

‘Sinners’ (2025)
Look, chances are, you’ve probably already seen “Sinners,” and I won’t be saying anything new here that’s already been said about Ryan Coogler’s excellent vampire action/horror flick. It earned glowing reviews from critics, impressed at the box office, and has just broken the record for most Oscar nominations received by a single film, earning 16 nods from The Academy. And yes, I really do think it’s as good as everyone says it is.
If you haven’t seen one of 2025’s buzziest movies yet, you can do so right now on Prime Video. “Sinners” follows twin brothers Smoke and Stack (both played by “Creed” star, Michael B. Jordan). The pair head back to their hometown in an attempt to escape their troubled past… only to discover that there’s an ancient, more powerful evil waiting to welcome them back to town. It’s punchy, bloody, and a whole lot of fun.

‘The Wrecking Crew’ (2026)
Prime Video’s end-of-January original movie looks to be a big hit with streamers, as old-school action effort “The Wrecking Crew” continues to be one of the streamer’s top watches. It stars Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista as estranged half-brothers Jonny (Momoa) and James (Bautista); they’re reunited after their father’s mysterious death and as they search for the truth, they stumble on a conspiracy that threatens to tear their family apart.
In a nutshell, “The Wrecking Crew” is a throwback to classic buddy cop action movies, updated with some more modern action movie tropes, and makes for a fun watch. Here’s what TG’s Malcolm McMillan had to say in his 2.5-star “The Wrecking Crew” review: “It’s formulaic, loaded with action movie tropes, but is too long and complicated for what it is, so it loses points for that. But it is a blast to watch thanks to Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista’s chemistry, and even features some surprisingly gory kills.”
