After many years of working on his debut book, a County Kildare-based author is preparing to finally launch the fruit of his labour next week.
‘Heroes of Light and Shadow’, which is the brainchild of Conor Forrest, puts a modern spin on Irish mythology and is aimed at younger readers.
The book’s story follows a young boy named Oisín, who is assisted by none other than the legendary figure Fionn MacCumhaill.
Together, can they prevent death and destruction? Or will Dublin find itself torn apart by monsters it had once left behind in distant memory?
The launch of Conor’s debut will take place inside Athy Library on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. It will begin at 6pm.
In addition, the launch will feature a guest speaker, in the form of veteran playwright, author and actor John MacKenna.
Copies of ‘Heroes of Light and Shadow’ will be available for sale on the evening, and will be supplied by the Kilcullen-based business Woodbine Books.
‘Heroes of Light and Shadow’ has been published by The O’Brien Press.
