Even though Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar released late in 2025, it became the highest grossing film of 2025, raising expectations for its sequel, Dhurandhar 2. Slated to be released on March 19, Dhurandhar 2 will be sharing the day with Yash’s Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups.
The mega clash is most likely to affect the box office numbers of both the films. But early numbers suggest something else. It seems that Dhurandhar 2 is already showing signs of having the upper hand due to the superhit first film.
While advance bookings for both the films are yet to open in India, limited pre-sales began in the US as February ended. And as of now, Dhurandhar 2 seems to be in the lead.

The biggest box office clash, Dhurandhar: The Revenge Vs Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups, draws closer as March has begun. Naturally, the chatter around the projected box office collections of both the films have piqued every movie buff and trade expert’s interests.
As limited pre-sales of both the films have begun in the US, early numbers indicate that Dhurandhar 2 is leading in advance bookings by a significant margin.
As of March 1, according to Sacnilk, Dhurandhar 2 has sold 1953 tickets across 209 scheduled shows in 151 theatres, collecting a whopping $33,723 in advance sales. The first film made $21 million in the US and Canada.
On the other hand, Yash’s Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, is also releasing theatrically worldwide on the same day. The film has not seen an impressive response to pre-sales yet. Toxic has opened in 122 shows in 81 theatres. The film has collected $3,665 in advance ticket sales for its premiere, selling 189 tickets, much less than Dhurandhar 2.
Earnings from early advance booking show that Dhurandhar 2 is leading but the gap can reduce in the coming weeks after more shows open for Yash-starrer.
Dhurandhar, which released in December 2025, earned over ₹1300 crore globally, and the sequel is expected to match up to it as the anticipation for the film is at an all-time high.
Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar, stars Ranveer Singh as Hamza, aka Jaskirat Singh Rangi, as an Indian spy who has been to Lyari, the criminal underbelly of Karachi to dismantle the internal terror networks. The first part earned over Rs 1300 crore globally, and the sequel is expected to emulate it, if not do better.
Toxic is Kannada superstar Yash’s comeback film after KGF 2. With a box ooffice collection of Rs 1,190−1,250 crore globally, KGF: Chapter 2 is the second highest grossing Indian film of 2022 worldwide.
