Doha: The Arab Book Award announced that submissions for its fourth edition will remain open until May 28 via its official website.
Launched by Qatar in March 2023, the award honors authors, publishers, and institutions contributing to Arabic book production.
This year’s categories include linguistic and critical studies, focusing on grammar, morphology, and criticism in narrative and theater; social and philosophical studies, dedicated to Arab-Islamic philosophy and psychology; and historical research covering Arab and Islamic history from the 12th Hijri century to the present.
Sharia studies focus on Quranic sciences and principles of interpretation, alongside dictionaries, encyclopedias, and text verification, with emphasis on works in creed, Islamic philosophy, and jurisprudence methodology. Eligibility requires a strong scholarly contribution and quality editing.
Media advisor for the Arab Book Award, Dr. Hanan Al Fayyad, said the award strengthens Arab intellectual life through rigorous evaluation that enhances the value of selected works and supports their academic impact.
The award includes two categories: a single book, requiring an original Arabic work published within the past four years with at least 30,000 words, and an achievement category for individuals or institutions with distinguished contributions to knowledge, in line with intellectual property standards.
