PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Fans of the Divergent series have two new books to look forward to from bestselling author Veronica Roth.
Roth, the author of the hit dystopian franchise, is set to release “The Sixth Faction” on Oct. 8, 2026. A second book in the new duology is scheduled to follow in February 2027.
The first book is available for preorder at Barnes and Noble and various bookselling websites.
According to information reported by ELLE USA, The Sixth Faction will revisit the world of Divergent through an alternate-universe version of protagonist Beatrice Prior’s story.
The new project marks Roth’s return to the series that made her a household name. Divergent debuted during the height of the dystopian fiction boom of the 2010s and became a major success alongside other popular young adult franchises.
Although Prior chooses a different path in this upcoming novel, fans suspect her main love interest (Four) is here to stay.
“Her ensuing decision thrusts her into the crosshairs of an underground rebellion, and into the path of a boy with secrets as dangerous as her own—a boy with only a number for a name,” the book’s description reads.
The upcoming release launches what is being billed as a new Divergent duology, giving readers a fresh take on the beloved story more than a decade after the original series first captured audiences.
