The e-Axle uses Musashi’s proprietary reduction gear technology, derived from its experience in 2W transmission systems, to offer acceleration and torque comparable to internal combustion engine-powered two-wheelers.”>Bengaluru-based electric vehicle start-up Emobi has announced that its upcoming electric two-wheeler model, AKX, will be powered by the e-Axle EV drive unit developed by Japan-based mobility technology company Musashi Seimitsu Industry.
The AKX becomes the second Emobi model to feature Musashi’s e-Axle technology after the Kyari electric scooter, which was launched in November 2025.
Bharath Rao, CEO and Cofounder, Emobi, said the AKX has been developed keeping the requirements of India’s growing electric mobility market in mind.
“AKX has been designed with the needs of India’s electric mobility market in mind. The integration of Musashi’s e-Axle technology enhances the vehicle’s acceleration, torque and overall riding experience, while staying focused on efficiency and reliability,” Bharath Rao, CEO and Co-Founder, Emobi, said.
Musashi’s e-Axle technology is designed for two-wheeled electric vehicles and combines the motor, inverter and gearbox into a compact drive unit. The company said the technology delivers smoother acceleration, improved pick-up torque and low-noise performance while maintaining efficiency.
The e-Axle uses Musashi’s proprietary reduction gear technology, derived from its experience in two-wheeler transmission systems, to offer acceleration and torque comparable to internal combustion engine-powered two-wheelers.
