More than one of the top horror movies streaming this week is connected to last week’s release of director Zach Cregger’s newest film in theaters, Resident Evil. Smart streaming services made previous entries in the franchise available, but strangely, the one film in the series that is the hardest to find is the one that landed the top-ten spot. By the way, two films on this week’s list star Georgina Campbell.
Zach Cregger’s first two horror films are ensconced on this week’s list, which is something that you can expect, especially when his new film in theaters is such a huge hit. Weapons hasn’t really left the countdown since it was released on streaming, but Barbarian has returned after a year’s absence, since it was last seen here during the week of September 22, 2025.
Out of nowhere, one of the beloved folk horror films has leapt into this week’s list. Director Robin Hardy’s classic tale of cat and mouse, or pagans and hares, The Wicker Man, has suddenly appeared among the most-watched terror tales among horror fans. It is nice to see such a classic being watched by so many people that we get to write about it here. It’s an absolute pleasure to see.
