Chris Pratt and J.K. Simmons‘ bizarre 2009 horror movie is available to stream on Peacock. Directed by Karyn Kusama, Jennifer’s Body was largely overlooked upon its theatrical release.
Pratt plays Officer Roman Duda, a rookie local police officer, while Simmons plays the eccentric Mr. Wroblewski, a high school teacher with a prosthetic hook hand. Megan Fox plays the titular character, while Amanda Seyfried plays her best friend.
While the movie was poorly served by its original marketing, cultural shifts in the 2010s allowed audiences to appreciate its sharp feminist satire. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a rotten 47% critical score on the Tomatometer and a 36% score on the Popcornmeter.
What to know about Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried’s Jennifer’s Body?
The film follows high school student Jennifer Check (played by Fox) after she becomes possessed by a demon. Jennifer targets and kills male classmates, many of whom have treated women in predatory or exploitative ways.

Written by Diablo Cody, the film saw Seyfried play Anita “Needy” Lesnicki, Jennifer’s bookworm best friend who tries to stop the carnage. The story centers on the complicated, codependent bond between the two girls and Needy’s mission to end Jennifer’s killing spree.
The film grossed approximately $31.9 million worldwide during its theatrical run, per The Numbers. It was made on a reported production budget of $16 million, making it barely profitable.
Besides Fox, Seyfried, Pratt, and J.K. Simmons, the cast includes Adam Brody as Nikolai Wolf, Johnny Simmons as Chip Dove, and Amy Sedaris as Toni Lesnicky.
Meanwhile, screenwriter Diablo Cody expressed her interest in a possible sequel in January 2024. She said to Bloody Disgusting, “Nothing makes me happier than when a person approaches and tells me that they love this movie.”
