The Guimaras Provincial Government issued a travel advisory Thursday, March 26, as the island prepares for a massive influx of visitors for the upcoming summer heat and the world-renowned Manggahan Festival.
With “festival season just around the corner,” provincial tourism officials are doubling down on safety, urging all travelers to exclusively patronize establishments accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT).
The move is part of the province’s “Quality over Quantity” strategy, ensuring that the “sweetest mango destination” remains a top-tier, secure choice for both local and international tourists.
“With festival season just around the corner, Guimaras is buzzing! We encourage tourists and visitors to patronize only DOT‑accredited establishments to keep your stay as sweet as our mangoes. These partners meet national standards for safety and service—why risk your holiday?,” the Capitol shared on social media.
Governor Ma. Lucille L. Nava, MD, emphasized that DOT accreditation is the “gold standard” for guest protection.
Accredited hotels, resorts, and homestays have undergone rigorous inspections to meet national standards for sanitation, fire safety, and professional service.
