March 26 (UPI) — Oscar-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis has signed on to play fictional mystery writer Jessica Fletcher in a Murder, She Wrote movie.
The Universal film is set for theatrical release on Dec. 22, 2027.
Jason Moore is attached to direct the movie, which was penned by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo.
Amy Pascal, Phil Lord and Chris Miller are producers on the project.
The late Angela Lansbury originally played Jessica, an amateur sleuth from a sleepy town in Maine, in a TV show that ran from 1984 to 1996.
Curtis can now be seen in Scarpetta, an adaptation of Patricia Cornwell‘s best-selling mystery novels.
