Have you noticed that recalls are more common these days than they used to be? Or is it just my imagination? It seems every week we are informing you about one or more major recalls from food to build products to automobile issues.
Taking a look at the U.S. Food & Drug Administration website as of this article, I found 26 recalls in the month of August alone. Doesn’t that seem like a lot?
The latest recall came out on August 30th for Asli Fine Foods for the 7-ounce Asli Cinnamon Powder due to a possible health risk. The reason for the recall is because the product may contain lead. The product was sold in stores in the states of Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and Ohio.
One day earlier, M&P Food Production of Brooklyn, New York recalled multiple flavors of blintzes, pirozhki, and vareniki. the reason is that the product may contain undeclared wheat, milk, and/or sesame which is not good for those who have those types of allergies or severe sensitivity. This product was sold in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland and Florida.

We reported on August 28th, about theTerrafina Golden Raisins recall due to undeclared allergen-undeclared sulfites, distributed in New York State. The recall was initially announced on August 26.
On August 27th, we announced the recall of Walmart’s Great Value Apple Juice, Refresco Beverages US Incorporated of Tampa, Florida for over 9500 cases of contaminated six-packs of 8-ounce juice bottles, sold in several states, including New York and Pennsylvania.
On August 23, Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar Overseas LLC of Edison, New Jersey recalled certain Bliss Tree Butter Snacks that may contain undeclared milk and/or sesame seeds. These products had been distributed nationwide.
Some other August 2024 recalls from the U.S. FDA of note that may have been sold in New York State and/or Pennsylvania include Montreal Fudge, Jolly Rancher Popcycles, Emerald Kettle Glazed Walnuts, El Servidor Corp brand ground cinnamon, Perrigo Company store brand Premium Infant Formula with Iron Milk-Based Powder, North Fish USA Inc. imported 9-ounce packages of Cold Smoked Capelin, Yummy Foods Yummy Swirly Ices line, and G.S. Gelato & Desserts Full Circle Market Coconutmilk Chocolate Almond Crunch Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert.
