EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – In Newburgh, one business took advantage of United Way’s annual Day of Caring to restore trails around a school.
Kaiser Aluminum helped Yankeetown Elementary School clear paths in the woods behind the school.
They made wooden rails and bridges to make it easier for the kids to navigate the paths.
Officials spoke about what it means to help the community.
“We like supporting the kids in the school because this county, this community is where our people live too. It’s our community as well so doing this is just contributing to the community that we love,” says Kari Fluegel of Kaiser Aluminum.
Officials say the work isn’t done quite yet, but they plan to get the project completed soon.
