Local entrepreneurs and small business owners are invited to attend an upcoming seminar designed to equip them with knowledge of financing options and the tools necessary to grow their businesses.
The seminar, titled “Finding Funding: SBA Loans vs. Investors,” will take place on October 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Owensboro Community and Technical College – Downtown Campus (1501 Frederica Street). The event is being presented by the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation (GOEDC) and the Kentucky Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
Kurt Hummel, Vice President of Government Guaranteed Lending at South Central Bank, will present on how SBA loans can offer significant financial assistance to small businesses.
Blake Edge, Director of Community and Economic Development at the Green River Area Development District, will introduce the GRADD Revolving Loan Fund and explain its unique benefits.
Robert Lamothe, President of Commonwealth Seed Capital — an independent fund that invests in early-stage Kentucky businesses, will cover the basics of working with investors, including what they look for and how to approach them.
Jamie Johnson, Vice President of Workforce Development, Small Business, and Entrepreneurship at GOEDC, will provide information on local incentive programs, highlighting how businesses can leverage these opportunities for growth.
