After three months of touring various regions in Uganda, the 2024/2025 Miss Tourism Uganda competition concluded on September 14 at the Kampala Serena hotel.
The competition featured 29 finalists from West Nile, Teso, Ankole, Central, Karamoja and Northern Uganda. The contestants underwent a rigorous question-and-answer session, after which the group was narrowed down to the top 10 finalists.
These finalists were further tested on their ability to promote their regions under the theme, “Peace and Tourism.”
In the end, Gulu’s Bianka Lucky Atino emerged Miss Tourism Uganda 2024. Victoria Ndamurani from Bunyoro came second and Rachel Akidi from Karamoja was third.
As part of her prize, Atino received a Toyota Fielder, registration number UBR 221D. Speaking at the grand finale, Minister Justine Lumumba Kasule offered her support by giving the Miss Tourism Uganda organizers Shs 4m as a token of appreciation.
Lumumba promised to draw more attention to the pageant and promote tourism to empower youth through such initiatives.
