A partnership between Shropshire Youth Support Trust (SYST) and Tenpin Telford has flourished
The initiative, aimed at those not currently in employment, education, or training (NEET), has become a beacon of positive engagement in the local community.
Since its launch earlier this month, the collaboration has provided a fun and supportive environment for these young individuals, offering activities such as tenpin bowling, karaoke, pool, and table tennis.
These sessions have not only given participants the chance to unwind and enjoy themselves but have also fostered essential social skills, teamwork, and confidence—tools that will serve them well in their personal and professional development.
In addition to the engaging activities, SYST has been working closely with each participant, offering tailored mentorship and career support.
This holistic approach ensures that while the young people are enjoying their time at Tenpin Telford, they are also gaining valuable guidance and resources to help them navigate their future paths.
The collaboration has already seen a significant impact, with many participants feeling more confident about their future prospects.
Richard Nuttall, CEO of SYST, expressed his pride in the initiative’s success so far: “We’ve been delighted by the positive response. Dozens of young people have taken part, and the activities at Tenpin Telford have proven to be the perfect way to engage and support them. This partnership is an example of how local businesses can truly make a difference, and we look forward to continuing this momentum.”
Neetu Johal, General Manager at Tenpin Telford, added: “It’s been fantastic to see how well this collaboration has worked so far. The young people we’ve welcomed have shown incredible enthusiasm, and it’s clear that these activities and the support from SYST is making a real difference. We’re proud to support SYST in their mission to help more young people in our community.”
With such promising results, the collaboration between SYST and Tenpin Telford continues to offer a lifeline for young people, helping them build skills, confidence, and connections. The fully funded activities are running on a weekly basis. Those interested in taking part are encouraged to get in touch with SYST as soon as possible.
