ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Less than a month away from election day, Fulton County elections officials are raising concerns about absentee ballots.
Logistical problems at the new Palmetto United States Postal Service facility have caused mail delays for months. In light of the known issues, Nadine Williams, Fulton County’s director of registration and elections, recommended voting in person if you don’t receive your ballot within seven to 10 days of requesting it.

“You still have that option: advance voting or election day,” she said during a board meeting on Thursday.
Here’s how you can track your ballot:
- Go to https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/ and type in your information
- Once logged in, click “Absentee Ballot Portal” and then “Update My Preferences”
- There, you can subscribe to text, phone call and email notifications about your absentee ballot’s status
To avoid postal delays when returning your ballot, it’s best to bring it to a drop box if possible or check with your county for other options.
Oct. 25 is the last day you can request an absentee ballot. Early voting is from Oct. 15 to Nov. 1, and the general election is on Nov. 5.
