Peru’s tourism sector might represent 2.9% of GDP and generate 1.3 million jobs this year,
forecast on Friday.
These figures demonstrate, without any doubt, that tourism is a powerful source of wealth and employment for Peruvian citizens.
Peru Travel Mart is expected to host 6,000 appointments during the two-day event and raise more than US$18 million in sales of Peruvian tourism products and services for the world.
Therefore, more than 165 buyers from countries such as the United States, Canada, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, South Korea, China, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, and Brazil, among others, have arrived in our country to negotiate with 150 Peruvian companies dedicated to tourism.
In turn, President Dina Boluarte, in her opening speech, stated that Peru Travel Mart, since its inception in 2008, has been a fundamental pillar for the promotion of our country as a tourist destination of excellence.
“Today, we are meeting again with the aim of continuing to strengthen ties between national tour operators and international buyers, in a space that seeks to showcase the cultural, natural, and gastronomic wealth of our beloved Peru,” she said.

“Thus, we will promote an authentic tourist experience, revaluing the natural and cultural riches of our country, because the possibilities of tourism in Peru are inexhaustible,” she stated.
