DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — On Saturday, he Circle drive-in in Dickson City hosted the movie premiere of two independent films both starring award-winning actress Avryana Rose.
The second feature, Bitter Souls, was filmed in many iconic locations through northeastern Pennsylvania, including the Circle Drive-In.
“Bitter Souls is filmed here in Pennsylvania. Everything you see up there on that wonderful screen was filmed right here in Pennsylvania,” said Rose.
Those who worked on the film say NEPA was the perfect location.
“It was a couple weeks of pure excitement. We are trying to do a lot of film work here because we believe there’s a great pool of talent and there’s no reason we can’t make world class films here,” said JD Earl, Bitter Soul’s director of photography.
The film’s star, Avaryana Rose meet with those who attended the film for autographs and pictures, and raised awareness for her anti-bullying platform “Babes against bullying.”
“My main goal is to spread awareness about the actual cyber bullying that takes place to young girls in this industry. It makes you a big target,” said Rose.
Bullied when she was younger, Rose now spreads a positive message to her audience.
“Just keep being yourself. Kill them with kindness, always do what you dream to do,” said Rose.
Rose has a variety of upcoming projects, with one bringing her back to NEPA.
“I’m locked in to film another movie here in Northeastern Pennsylvania again. We’re gonna be coming back here to make movies because I just love it here,” said Rose.
