The Hurricane made landfall Sunday evening in Baracoa in the Cuban province of Guantánamo. This area is not only famous for the US Military-run torture prison but is also considered a beautiful historical and significant tourism destination in Cuba.
Located on the far eastern edge of Cuba’s northern coast, Baracoa is a hidden gem for travelers. It offers everything a tourist could look for on a trip to Cuba.

The US National Hurricane Center characterized the storm as “very small.” Oscar is the 15th named storm of the hurricane season. It formed as a tropical storm just east of the Turks and Caicos islands on Saturday before becoming a hurricane. USA Today posted earlier saying Hurricane George could lead to a ‘humanitarian crisis” in Cuba.
Earlier, Hurricane Oscar touched the southern islands of The Bahamas. No reports of damages or injuries are known at this time or expected.
