World Tourism Network Congratulations and Statement
Juergen Steinmetz, chairman of the World Tourism Network and a former Hawaii-based US tour operator, whose company bought 50 seats on every Garuda flight when the minister studied in the United States until the carrier stopped operating flights to North America.
This publication, eTurboNews was launched in 1999 in Indonesia, where its publisher represented Indonesia tourism in the United States under the late Minister Ardika.
Steinmetz congratulated the Hon. Widiyati Putri Wardhana on her appointment on behalf of the World Tourism Network.
The Independence Newspaper in Indonesia published todays World Tourism Network Indonesia chapter statement by its chairwoman, Mudi Astuti.
“World Tourism Network (WTN) appreciates the formation of the Red and White Cabinet from President Prabowo’s government and congratulates them on their work and hopes that under the leadership of the new cabinet, Indonesia will start building and developing quality tourism, namely sustainable Indonesian tourism with a tourism concept that can provide long-term impacts. Both in the environment, society, culture, and economy, for the present and future of all local communities and tourists visiting Indonesia.
“Without the cooperation of a ‘Public-private partnership’, tourism will not be able to move the macroeconomic sector into the microeconomic estuary of tourism. For that, we ask the new minister to be a good coordinator who bridges macroeconomics and microeconomics to move towards ‘quality tourism.’
“This means that we can hopefully create economic opportunities for local communities by involving them in various aspects of the tourism industry, such as tour guides, craftsmen, and accommodation providers,” explained Mudi.
