Rebel food and travel businesses frequently top awards lists here in Ireland – and now we’re showing what we’ve got to the rest of the world.
The Midleton Distillery Experience, Select Hotels of Ireland (based in Blackpool) and The iNUA Collection (based in Ballintemple) were all present at Tourism Ireland’s ‘Flavours of Ireland’ in the British capital earlier this week. They were three of 60 Irish companies meeting with 100 global inbound tour operators, who deliver business from all over the world – including the US, Mainland Europe, Asia, Australasia and Africa.
The ‘Flavours of Ireland’ event is now in its 22nd year – and it’s designed to allow Irish businesses to connect with clients, customers and visitors from across the globe.

The Midleton Distillery Experience is one of Cork’s best-known attractions, receiving more than 100,000 visitors each year.
Alice Mansergh, Chief Executive of Tourism Ireland, said: “Tourism Ireland runs our Flavours of Ireland event to increase awareness of Ireland among influential global inbound tour operators and to secure a greater share of the global travel market.
“We are delighted to connect inspiring local tourism businesses from Ireland with global tour operators, who build itineraries to sell overseas for the coming years. Over 600 commercial meetings take place at our Flavours of Ireland workshop.
“Local tourism businesses attending offer diverse experiences, from boat trips to cathedrals and castles, from gardens and distilleries to tea tours, from places to stay to ways to travel and regions to explore.”
Earlier this month Cork food producers big and small cleaned up at the lastest Blas na hÉireann Irish Food Awards – seen as the gold standard in terms of recognising home-grown quality.
