Renowned gospel actor Abel Martins recently shared a surprising decision: he’s stepping away from Christian movie productions for good.
Speaking candidly on “The Journey” with Dele Adeyanju, Martins opened up about the painful experiences that drove him to make this choice.
Martins revealed that his departure stems from feelings of envy and betrayal within the industry, which, he says, have made his work environment unbearable.
Reflecting on his journey, he stated, “I know we’re here to face battles, and envy is part of it. That’s why I’ve decided to step back and no longer be involved in Christian productions.”
At the heart of this decision is his professional relationship with Christian filmmaker Mike Bamiloye. Though Bamiloye offered steady support and demonstrated strong integrity, Martins believes that their collaborations triggered jealousy among others in the industry.
He even shared that some individuals tried to damage his reputation, leading him to question his place in Christian filmmaking.
In the face of adversity, Martins expressed gratitude to Bamiloye for his kindness and guidance.
However, he remains resolute in his decision, stating that the atmosphere has grown too toxic for him to stay. “I won’t be part of this anymore,” he concluded, marking an end to a significant chapter in his career.
