Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Phyo Zaw Soe and Ayeyawady Region Economic Affairs Minister U Tin Aye visited the viewpoint at Thalakkwa Forest Reserve and the Ngwehsaung Beach elephant camp in Pathein on 26 October.
During the visit, they emphasized the need to enhance tourist safety and improve facilities at the viewpoint to make it more appealing to visitors. They discussed plans to integrate these enhancements into tourism promotion programmes.
At the Yamona Oo Hotel in the Ngwehsaung Beach area, they met with the Ngwehsaung Beach management body, departmental officials, and hotel operators. The focus of the meeting was on developing the tourism industry, promoting tourism strategies, and attracting more visitors to Ngwehsaung Beach. They also encouraged the introduction of nightlife activities, including night bazaars, sports competitions on the beach, entertainment programmes, and regular cultural festivals to draw in tourists.
Following this, they viewed round the current status of tourist attractions along the beach and assessed the services provided to tourists at the night bazaar. — MNA/TMT
