Don’t Move—a new horror thriller from producer Sam Raimi and directors Adam Schindler and Brian Netto—has screamed out of the gate on Netflix.
A Netflix original movie released on the streaming service on October 25, the official summary for Don’t Move reads, “A grieving woman (Kelsey Asbille) hoping to find solace deep in an isolated forest encounters a stranger who injects her with a paralytic agent. As the agent gradually takes over her body, she must run, hide, and fight for her life before her entire nervous system shuts down.”
Written by T.J. Cimfel and David White, Don’t Move also stars Finn Wittrock, Moray Treadwell and Daniel Francis.
According to Netflix, Don’t Move debuted at No. 1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Movies chart for the week of October 21-27 with 20.2 million views, which equates to 31 million hours viewed.
Don’t Move also debuted at No. 3 on Netflix’s U.S. chart for the week of October 21-27 and was in the Netflix top 10 in 87 countries worldwide.
Coming in at No. 2 on the streamer’s global movies chart in its second week of release is the Netflix original thriller Woman of the Hour, directed by and starring Anna Kendrick. Per the streamer, the film had 13.2 million views, which equates to 21.1 million hours viewed.
Woman of the Hour Was No. 1 on Netflix in the U.S. for the week of October 21-27 and was in the top 10 on Netflix in 28 countries across the globe.
The Netflix original documentary Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare (7.2 million views/9.8 million hours viewed) held onto the No. 3 spot in streamer’s global top 10 in its second week of release, while the 2016 animated family movie Sing (5.9 million views/10.7 million hours viewed) was No. 4.
The 2024 animated family movie Kung Fu Panda 4 debuted at No. 5 (5.8 million views/9.1 million hours viewed) in its first week of release on Netflix.
‘Lonely Planet’ Drops From Top Spot On Netflix Global Movies Chart
The Netflix original romantic drama Lonely Planet—starring Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth—came in at No. 6 on the streamer’s global top 10 movies chart in its third week of release with 5.6 million views/8.9 million hours viewed.
Last week, Lonely Planet topped the streamer’s global top 10 chart after debuting at No. 3 the week before.
The Netflix original romantic comedy drama Happiness Is (3.7 million views/5.9 million hours viewed) debuted at No. 7 on the global chart, while the streamer’s original documentary The Menendez Brothers (3.3 million views/6.4 million hours viewed) was No. 8 in its third week of release.
The Netflix original dramatic thriller Hijack ’93 (3.2 million views/4.6 million hours) debuted at No. 9 on the streamer’s global movies chart; while the 2021 comic book movie Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2.6 million views/4.2 million hours) rounded out the top 10 in its third week on the streaming service.
