A group of students at Chico State University have created a website and are working on an app that will help connect people with taskers who will help do chores for you.
CHICO, Calif. – A group of students from Chico State University have created a new business that aims to help those in need of assistance with errands or chores around the community.
Sirena Rios, Owen Allsup, Duke Morales, Paisley Weigel, Shotamura, Seth LeBlanc, and Andrew Won teamed up to help create the new business.
Their business, which goes by the name of Done Deal, seeks to make your life easier by connecting you with affordable help in the form of taskers.
Taskers can help you complete your everyday obligations such as landscaping, pet sitting, running errands, home services, and more. They can help you on a flexible work schedule, provide help at an affordable price, and offer convenience in getting chores and errands taken care of.
Not only can you hire a tasker from Done Deal to assist you, but you can also apply to become a tasker to make some extra money.
“We wanted to make this company because we wanted to provide flexible work opportunities for students and also help community members get odd jobs that they don’t necessarily have time for.” said Owen Allsup, a student at Chico State University.
The students behind Done Deal tell Action News Now that the business started as a class project during the fall semester but the students decided to stick with it and to make a legitimate business out of it.
Students say that the Done Deal website is completely free for everyone to use.
When it comes to prices for getting taskers to help, Seth Leblanc, a student at Chico State University says that it is up to users to bid on their tasks.
“As for a fee right now, we let users bid on their tasks so whatever you feel like your laundry being done is worth to you, we then shop it out to various taskers, and once we get a match for you, we connect you with a tasker and get the job done.”
The website for Done Deal is the prototype for the business that the students are working on but they hope that in the next year, the website will be turned into an app, making it more accessible.
When asked what they hope to accomplish with their business, the students said that this business is meant to connect the community.
“We really want to bring back the good old days where people would help each other’s neighbors come together to help each other out,” said Duke Morales, a student at Chico State University. “We think it would help small businesses outsource their little tasks that they don’t want to hire actual employees for. The busy professionals, students, and elderly always need a helping hand and students need the flexible schedule, so it just works perfectly to create a stronger community all around.”
