Author Claire Messud will appear at Interabang Books on Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. to discuss her new book, This Strange Eventful History, in a conversation with store co-owner Lori Feathers.
The novel, which was longlisted for the 2024 Booker Prize and won this year’s Deborah Pease Prize, follows a French Algerian family over the course of many decades, after Algeria’s civil war renders them a family without a homeland. The story is based on Messud’s own family history.
Messud is the author of six works of fiction, including the 2006 novel The Emperor’s Children.
