Drew Barrymore walked in on her and Adam Sandler‘s daughters watching 50 First Dates during a recent movie night and thought it was “sweet” and “wonderful.”
The beloved actress discussed the full circle interaction in Monday’s (November 4) episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, (featuring Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage standouts Emily Osment and Montana Jordan) citing happiness.
While she was pleased that her and Sandler’s children were watching the movie they starred in together exactly 20 years ago, Barrymore expressed confusion on why their daughters chose THAT movie, joking:
“I was like, ‘Why are you guys watching this? Don’t you get enough of me and your dad?'”
In August, Barrymore shocked the world by revealing an alternate ending to the beloved 2004 rom-com, sharing that the film’s original conclusion was entirely more tragic than what actually conspired. In the original script, Lucy, Barrymore’s character, (sitting with Henry, Sandler’s character, at the Hukilau Cafe) says:
“‘You should go and live your life, because this is no life here.’ And [Henry] goes away, as he does, and he comes back and he walks into the restaurant and he just sits down and says, ‘Hi, I’m Henry.’ And the film ends.”
Could you imagine?
