Local fans of Zendaya and Tom Holland should keep an eye out the next time they go to grab a coffee, as they might be lucky enough to run into the couple right here in Boston.
Holland has been spotted around town with Zendaya, as his girlfriend and fellow “Spider-Man” star is currently filming the upcoming A24 film “The Drama” in the Hub opposite Robert Pattinson. Zendaya and Holland were recently photographed strolling through Boston while walking their dog, according to images shared on social media.
Zendaya was previously seen visiting Newbury Street’s Rainbows Pottery Studio, stopping to chat with an artist there, as revealed in photos shared on Instagram. According to posts on Twitter and TikTok, Zendaya was also recently spotted taking photos with fans at a Target in town, as well as visiting the Tatte Bakery in Beacon Hill. Zendaya visited the bakery’s Boylston Street location along with Holland in 2022 while she was in Massachusetts filming the sultry tennis flick “Challengers.”
Earlier this week, trailers and crew for the “The Drama” were seen around Arch Street in downtown Boston Tuesday morning. The production was previously spotted setting up shop on Beacon Street in Kenmore Square Monday morning, where Zendaya and Pattinson were said to be filming an indoor dinner scene, according to a source from the set.
Last week, shooting for the movie took place near South Station at the intersection of High Street and Federal Street on Thursday, with fans gathering to catch a glimpse of Pattinson while filming took place downtown.
While there isn’t a ton of public information about the upcoming film, Deadline reports that Zendaya and Pattinson will play an engaged couple whose romance “takes an unexpected turn” before their big day. The film is directed by Kristoffer Borgli, who previously collaborated with A24 on the 2023 movie “Dream Scenario,” starring Nicholas Cage.
Musician and “Licorice Pizza” actress Alana Haim and “Elemental” actor Mamoudou Athie are also set to join the cast, per Deadline. “The Drama” will film in Boston through December, according to Boston.com.
