The UK Foreign Office has issued TWO new separate travel warnings and alerts for those heading to Greece. European Union holidaymakers have been issued two different travel warnings in updated advice as we head towards Christmas.
In its first warning, the Foreign Office warned British holidaymakers over Twitter/X. A post on X, formerly Twitter, reads: “If you’re heading to tropical regions, be aware of typhoons and hurricanes. Always check the latest weather updates and stay safe!”
In its second warning, the Foreign Office has a warning for British football fans heading abroad to cheer on their team amid UEFA competition this week. “Athens will host the UEFA Europa League on Thursday 7 November between OLYMPIACOS and RANGERS FC.,” it said.

“If you are travelling to Athens for the match, you should plan your movement around the city to arrive at the stadium well in advance of the match kick-off and follow the instructions of the local authorities,” it added. The Foreign Office also urged fans to “take care of your personal possessions including passports, especially in crowds and on public transport.”
Rangers make the trip to Piraeus to take on Olympiacos in a Europa League contest at Stadio Georgios Karaiskaki on Thursday. Both sides are on six points on the league phase standings table after their wins on matchday three of the competition.
It went on, in another updated guide on its website: “Greek authorities have increased security at some prominent locations, including tourist sites, due to events in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories. There is currently a heightened risk of such protests, particularly in central Athens.
“Stay aware of your surroundings, stay away from protests.” The UEFA Europa League match between Olympiacos and Rangers will be available to watch and stream online live through TNT Sports 3 tonight.
