In its latest edition, Belgian magazine Soir Mag featured the top tourist destinations in Morocco, which it called a “land of a thousand and one wonders.”
Depicting the Kingdom as history book laid bare for all to see, the weekly magazine highlights Morocco’s rich culture, civilization and nature, “from buzzing medinas to silent deserts.”
The magazine highlighted a number of renowned tourist destinations, including Agadir, a “seaside resort with a postcard-worthy charm, with fine 6-kilometer-long sand caressed by 300 days of sunshine per year; Casablanca, a symbol of a country that is “moving towards the future without denying its past”; and Marrakech, the pearl that “plays with senses”, with its medina and farmers’ markets as they “rustle with an intense life.”
The article also sheds light on Fez, Morocco’s first imperial city as it “immerses you into 12 centuries of history” through its UNESCO-listed medina; Essaouira, the “Moroccan Saint-Malo” nestled in its UNESCO-listed ramparts; Tangier, which has been cultivating its mystery for 2,500 years, with its kasbah that “proudly overlooks the strait where continents meet”, without forgetting Rabat, the “sweet-life” capital with its wide avenues lined with Art Deco buildings, its 12th-century ramparts and its Andalusian gardens.
The magazine also looks at the tourist attractions of destinations such as Chefchaouen, Meknes, Tetouan and Ouarzazate, as well as sites such as the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, the Dades Gorge, Merzouga and Volubilis.
In addition, Soir Mag devotes an article to Dakhla, a “dream destination” for lovers of nature, adventure and well-being. “This town, with a history as rich as its landscapes, embodies the charm of the desert and the ocean, attracting more and more travelers looking for authenticity,” it states, noting that the Dakhla lagoon has become a shrine for water sports enthusiasts, particularly kitesurfing and wind-surfing, attracting enthusiasts from all over the world.
“Dakhla is much more than a vacation destination. It’s a true sensory voyage, where desert dunes, local flavors and encounters with marine wildlife combine to offer a memorable adventure,” reads the article.
