Sridevi and Akshay Kumar, who had given numerous hits and blockbusters, collaborated on this film, which was ultimately a failure at the box office. The film’s major flaw was its climax. Instead of delivering a fulfilling climax, it offered the audience a poster as a substitute to convey the final resolution with a written message.
As a result, the audience rejected the movie, leaving the actor’s careers in ruins.

In an old interview on Koffee With Karan, Akshay Kumar revealed that budget constraints caused Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin to be left unfinished. The issues led to a halt in shooting, leaving the project incomplete even after most of it was filmed.
The filmmakers decided to show the climax through text that the revenge of the characters was done, followed by the protagonists dancing in the end. This decision failed to resonate with the audience, leading to the movie’s significant failure at the box office.

Directed by Pankaj Parashar, Meri Biwi Ka Jawaab Nahin was shot in 1994 and delayed for 10 long years, finally released in 2004. The film also featured Gulshan Grover, Anupam Kher, Johnny Lever and Neena Gupta. Meri Biwi Ka Jawaab Nahin was a remake of the 1992 Telugu film Mondi Mogudu Penki Pellam.
