November 15, 2024 – Mariposa County Library officials announce that they are SO EXCITED to announce its participation in Zip Books, a grant-funded program from the California State Library. Zip Books enables patrons to request books and audiobooks that aren’t currently in the library’s collection, to be sent directly to that patron’s home. The patrons have the book for three weeks, just like a normal book checkout, and then are responsible for returning it to the library. The library will either add it to its collection or give it to the Mariposa Friends of the Library to sell to benefit the library.
This program will start officially on Monday, December 2 at ALL county branches. Stop into your county branch after December 2 to fill out a request form.
There are some guidelines and stipulations (for example, books must be published in the last 10 years and must be less than $50 in cost), but patrons will be allowed two requests per month until the funds run out. The library is thrilled to offer this to the public.
